Cowichan Tribes Land Use Planning Project

Building on previous work with Cowichan Tribes, EcoPlan is currently supporting the completion of a Land Use Plan (LUP). In 2013/14 EcoPlan worked with Cowichan Tribes in developing a Land Use Planning Framework (LUF), that set the stage for the LUP. The LUF detailed ‘Potential Furture Land Use Designations. Through community and Council consultation in the LUP process, these designations were updated to reflect work done and changes that have occurred in the years since the LUF was completed, and specific policies to guide decision-making around land use and development were developed for each.
