Okanagan Valley Interegional Monitoring and Evaluation Framework

Date: 2015-2017

The State of the Basin Report is the product of an interregional initiative to develop a monitoring and evaluation framework intended to track progress on matters which are important to the Okanagan Valley as a whole. EcoPlan International (EPI) was contracted to support and work with staff from the Regional Districts of North Okanagan, Central Okanagan, and Okanagan-Similkameen (RDNO, RDCO, and RDOS), as well as representatives from the Okanagan Basin Water Board (OBWB), the Okanagan Collaborative Conservation Program (OCCP) and the South Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Program (SOSCP). The project began in April 2016 and was completed in May 2017. In addition to developing a common interregional indicator framework, project work also included data collection, and the development of a State of the Basin report. The final framework has 36 indicators monitoring performance across 10 planning issue areas. It is expected that data will continue to be collected and a State of the Basin report will be prepared on a five-year cycle.
